To keep your car running smoothly even after its warranty expires, bring your car in for factory scheduled maintenance and preventive maintenance.

Ideally, a car should last for about 6 to 8 years, but some people say that you should sell your car after it hits its third or fourth year mark as the need for more expensive repairs tends to arise during this time.

At European Performance, we can help you maximize the life and performance of your car with our factory scheduled maintenance and preventive maintenance.

Having gained the wisdom of almost four decades working in the industry, European Performance is equipped with the knowledge and expertise needed to keep your car in optimal condition. Our team of expert technicians is passionate about European cars and is dedicated to providing service that exceeds expectations.

What Is Factory Scheduled Maintenance?

Factory Scheduled Maintenance is a list of service items that manufacturers check every couple thousand miles to ensure that your car is in good condition while it’s under warranty. Typically, this is done every 30,000 miles, but the service items and intervals may differ depending on the model of your car.

After the warranty expires, car owners are highly encouraged to continue bringing their car in for preventive maintenance, so minor problems are detected and resolved before they turn into costly complications.

For car owners who plan to sell their cars eventually, bringing your car in for regular maintenance will preserve its value and enable you to close the sale at a considerable price.

What Happens During Scheduled Maintenance?

Manufacturers inspect a different set of service items at each interval. At European Performance, our factory scheduled maintenance/preventive maintenance service includes:

Oil Filter and Air Filter Replacement

The oil filter and the air filter keep harmful dirt and debris from getting into your engine, and they need to be replaced before they get clogged.

Oil Change

Your car's oil needs to be kept above the minimum level and changed every now and then. If left unchanged for a long period, your car's oil will turn into sludge that can damage your engine.

Transmission Fluid Flush and Filter Change

Similar to your car's oil, transmission fluid is what helps keep your transmission working properly. It is recommended to have your transmission fluid checked and flushed regularly to avoid transmission damage.

Coolant Fluid Change

It is recommended to have your coolant flushed and changed every 30,000 miles to prevent contaminants from building up.

Battery Maintenance Services

Roadside assistance calls are often due to dead batteries. By having your batteries checked at least twice a year, you reduce the chances of having to deal with the hassle of car breakdowns.

Serpentine Belt Replacement

The serpentine belt needs to be checked every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. Driving with an old serpentine belt is a safety hazard as it can snap.

Spark Plugs Check

Spark plugs need to be checked every 30,000 to 90,000 miles. Signs that your spark plugs are failing include engine misfiring, lack of acceleration, and high fuel consumption.

Tire Pressure Check

On the driver's side door, there is a sticker that indicates the recommended tire pressure depending on the weight and the weight distribution of your car. It is of utmost importance that the recommended tire pressure is followed.

Tire Rotation

Uneven wear patterns happen when the front and back tires are not rotated regularly. Rotating your tires enables better performance by equalizing the tread wear.

Tire Change

Worn-out tires don't grip well on the road, and this could affect braking time and potentially cause accidents.

Headlights, Turn Signals, Brake, and Parking Lights Check

It need not be stated that working lights are crucial to road safety. Light checks are included in preventive maintenance to check for functionality and brightness. This is especially important for older cars.

Windshield Wiper Replacement

The windshield wipers need to be replaced once every year or when you notice that the wipers are not making contact with the surface of your windshield. This is crucial to road safety as it affects visibility during a storm.
